| Founded in 1960, STI earned very soon a sound reputation as a leading manufacturer of control actuators on the world market. STI activity was started by a small team of engineers involved in the design and manufacture of control valves. Their broad experience and dedication combined with an increasing demand from the industry led to a very fast growth of the company. A new line of pneumatic actuators and positioners for control valves was developed and the company focused only on pneumatic actuation for control services. In 2002 STI has been acquired by IMI (www.imiplc.com ), an international engineering company.IMI’s Severe Service valve platform was an ideal match for STI actuation technology and led to further developments for demanding applications in markets such as Power generation and Oil & Gas.   Nowadays STI products are well-known for their quality and reliability and are installed everywhere in the world, even in the most adverse environmental conditions. STI headquarters are located in Gorle, near Bergamo in northern Italy but a network of associated companies, distributors and sales agents is spread over several countries in the world.
